Prescribed burns 2021

We have a lot of burning to do after a period of time off due to tree planting schedule.   The content layout is from the start at the bottom of page to most recent at top.
Picture
Image taken after 4 of the plots were burned on the north end of the field.  The field is cut with with fire breaks anticipating both burns but also prevention should a fire break be breached.  The irregular layout of the field and undulating topography create for challenging burns as the wind will shift along the fire lines in consistently.

The River Field has robust fire breaks and makes for a good starting point each season.  However, the field has a significant invasive boxelder sapling issue and lose of prairie plants so the fuel and burns are inconsistent.  We also started on this one because the wind was forecast to pick-up midday and likely shut us down early.
