Prescribed burns winter 2025-26

The weather was a bit unusual December 2025 to March 2026 allowing for a considerable amount of burning to be done.  These are burns are all executed by a single operator which is enabled by the conditions.  These burns are done in former pastures rather than cropland so establishing native prairie is a slow process even after plantings.  

The burns were executed over numerous days so there is only 2/1/26 weather conditions serving as a example for the winter burns.  

Fences are tough due to fuel and brush mixed that are hard to access.  Often wood posts are also endangered of burning and have to be worked around.  

Smoke plumes are temporary "architecture x landscape" that can be seen for miles. They are communicative of the scale, scope, conditions and types of fire.
